We’ve all heard the stories of artists “making it on MySpace”. Well, while there are several genuine success stories out there, I’m here to tell you that music marketing on the Web is in no way as simple as simply throwing up a MySpace page, adding a bunch of friends and calling it a career.

While MySpace.com has many rewards for artists I would actually go as far as to say that MySpace.com does not really matter. If you already have a excellent MySpace.com campaign going then great, keep doing what works. Still, if you’re about to release an album or you’ve recently released one only to see disappointing solutions, then I am going to suggest that you completely rethink your music marketing strategy.

In a nut shell, I have found these to be the components of a successful music marketing campaign.

1. The Mailing List: Focus on building your mailing list. Start a mailing list on every piece of Internet real estate that you have.

2. Traffic: Do whatever it takes to send as much traffic as possible to that mailing list sign up form. Use MySpace, Fac electronic book, post in forums, flyers, stickers, emails, pay if you have to, just do what ever it takes. The more traffic, the more sign ups, the more albums sold.

3. Communicate with your listeners Don’t sell to your listeners, communicate with them. Let them get to know you by sending out fun and valuable emails. Do this as generally as you can without being too annoying. Once they trust you it’s ok to promote your album but do so with respect for their time and intelligence.

Music marketing is an art form in its own right. These are just a few simple pointers to developing a successful music marketing campaign. With a little bit of know how endeavor on your part you should start to see an increase in album sales in no time.

If you or anybody at all you know wants to learn to read music, it is a lot easier to do than it used to be. The Internet gives us all access to al the majority unlimited information, and could deliver an incredible array of products and tools right to our desktops. Not surp increasing ly, there are some really clever products out there that could stimulate you learn to read notes.

“Piano is Fun” from Anthony Fernando is a excellent beginner package for a wonderfully reasonable price that will teach you how to read music. The knowledge and practice available here would cost many times the purchase price ($24.95) in individual lessons. Included in the price are free lifetime upgrades and a 30 day money -back guarantee.

Purchase and Installation – Purchase and installation are both a snap. The entire process takes no more than five minutes and is virtually foolproof. Now,what’s in the product? A series of lessons and practice games that teach you how to read music and make it fun! And that is quite an accomplishment! Virtually all students find it an awesome, dreadful task, but it really does not have to be, as this product demonstrates. When you start the program, you may think that the product is just for children. Well, it’s wonderful for children, but it’s furthermore fun for anyone that wants to learn to read music for the piano. My own bass clef reading skills fade in and out, and I actually enjoyed clicking through the lessons and “games” (review tests).

Getting Started – The standard package features a series of twenty lessons that start incredibly simply and progress through both the treble and bass clefs. The graphics are ample and bright and simple to read. There are good sound and visual effects – enough to keep your interest up but not so much that it distracts from the point of learning the notes. The way to get started with the product is to take the tour, which explains the layout of the lessons and the “games” that are used as review tests for each of the twenty lessons. As a student progresses through each lesson, awards are given and displayed on a separate screen – exceptional little reinforcers to keep you going.

Menu and Options – The main menu is completely self-explanatory and includes a button for ” Start Here” which leads to the “tour”, a “Lessons” button, which leads to the twenty lessons, an “Options” button (explained below) and buttons for advanced tests called the Bronze, Silver, and Gold C hall enges. The Options button lets you control what happens when a correct answer is entered (there are a few disparate option s), and contains an option for teachers that allows the addition or deletion of a student’s name. It’s likewise possible for a “teacher” to construct “custom” lessons that operate prefer the other lessons. The option is in selecting the notes that are presented in the test. So,if you want your child or student to concentrate on recognizing certain notes, you may conveniently produce exercises that contain only those notes. There is likewise a sound option that lets you turn on or off the sound effects that accompany parts of the program.

Extra Challenging Exercises – The Bronze, Silver, and Gold C venue enge exercises are more note recognition tests but with the notes passing across the screen at a faster pace, apparent ly requiring a quicker response from the user. If a student may master these, there is not much doubt that they know their notes.

So that’s about it! This program does not balance your checkbook, manage your portfolio, or vacuum your carpet, but it never claimed to! If you want to learn to read music, or have a child that’s about to start lessons or just shows interest, this product is a exceptional buy. Imagine your piano teacher’s surprise when your 5 year old shows up knowing how to read music on both the treble and bass clefs! She will fall off her piano bench! By the way, my son, who’s been taking lessons for two years, came home from school yesterday and ASKED if he could use the Piano is Fun program! Think about that!

This can be through websites that sell CDs or those websites that allow music downloads. For those who wish to build their collection, they could pick to go with the CD because they could take them anywhere. Through purchasing music On-line, you’re able to have pictures of the bands, copies of lyrics, and the track list so that you don’t have to research all of that information yourself. It could not be too much a task for you, specifically if you love your music. Nonetheless, you ought to experience the many albums in order to be introduced to Bluegrass music that you have never heard before.

I find pleasure in downloading music to my PC and portable digital music player. In fact, I cannot remember the final time I was at a music store. I am a convert. I prefer listening to music samples on the Internet and buying only the songs that I want and not wanting to buy an entire disc where I can prefer only a few song tracks. This is the reason why iPods from Apple PC Inc. (AAPL) have grown exponentially in popularity to the current cult status. A friend of mine received a 30GB iPod for Christmas and trust me you have never seen a person so excited.

A 30GB iPod can hold up to 7,500 CD quality songs. That is impressive. Apple is a trendsetter in my estimation. From its MAC to the iPod, Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs has a keen knack for trends. The portable music devices have so much memory because he might expects a massive shift to CD burning and downloadable music. Apple’s iTunes Music Store is booming.

Just last week, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry released its research into the digital music business and the solutions weren’t a surprise. Just like how Web DVD movies have dominated the video rental market, dominated by Netflix Inc. (NFLX), and pushing incumbent Blockbuster Inc. (BBI) to the sidelines, the exponential growth of the Web music business has been on an explosive upward path.

According to the research, sales of digital music globally stimulated by over 300 percent in 2005 to $1.1 billion. The research said digital music accounts for about 6 percent of total music sales, up from uncommonly little two years back.

The competition in the industry is fierce and expected to ramp up going forward. This can guide to consolidation in the industry down the road and result in lower prices. we can see the bigger and more established players taking out the smaller up and comers.

Besides Apple, there are a slew of Online music website s. Probably the the majority well known is Napster Inc. (NAPS). Napster reported it has over 500,000 subscribers but has yet to turn a profit and is not expected for the time being. But the company has minimal debt and a whopping $128 million or $2.91 per share in cash. Given that the current share price is 3.08, this implies you are paying a mere $0.17 for the company’s asset and potential. This is pretty wonderful and enticing for speculators, but then Napster must deliver profits. Napster could be the dark horse in the digital music business.

The Internet is fast becoming the place to do everything, whether it’s purchasing products on web sites such as eBay, looking for information on On-line encyclopaedias prefer Wikipedia, or meeting new individuals on web sites such as My Space . But as more web sites are introduced, individuals have more and more to pick from and their patience gets shorter and shorter.

When the world expansive Web started it has been an art to find the information you were looking for. You’d spend hours digging through pages on websites trying to find the information you want, but them days are long gone. The back button is now the most used button on browsers because if individuals see a website that cannot show them straight away what they’re looking for then they will go back out to Google , Yahoo or MSN and find a website that will.

The key is to have an appealing landing page that really grabs attention. Keep your content catchy and to the point. individuals are not interested in reading pages upon pages of detail.

The Web is seen by many individuals as the place to go to get a bargain. There are less overhead expenses than buying from a company who have to rent out a department seller or pay lots of staff to sit by the phones, process orders etc. So consumers rightly expect these lower expenses to transcend down to the sell price of items. Would you now consider booking flights on the phone? The answer for the majority of individuals is no!

So as more and more individuals migrate from phone and fax ordering to On-line ordering, the more businesses invest in eCommerce. The result is an increasingly competitive market, so as well as thinking about SEO, Web designers ought to be asking themselves do I have content appealing enough to avoid the back button?

When I has been a young lad increasing up way back in the 60’s and 70’s, I again and again used to think how exceptional it would be to be able to custom make my own albums. A bunch of your all-time preferred songs grouped together in once place. It has been possible to record tracks from the radio, or from tape to tape and LPs (Long players on vinyl disc, now replaced by compact disc’s), but it has been a laborious process and not really the ideal solution. Additionally, there were again and again just a few songs you like d on an album, so couldn’t justify purchasing say 20 hits for 3 preferred s. Well, that’s all change d now that we can listen to music on the computer.

The exceptional thing about the Internet is the opening it gives to search through the musical archives of time and find just about any artist from any era that you please. It really is that simple to both download and listen to music on the PC. Some of the modern PC’s have exceptional sound systems too, so it’s not important to burn music to disk and play it in the ole Hi-fi. Yes, the Internet is certainly a convenience that is for sure. I’m actually in the process of collecting my all time favorites and it’s sensational to hear some of these performers and tracks following such a long time.

It is again and again said that individuals prevent trying out new things once they hit their mid 30’s and that includes food and music. This is why us olds keep going on about the songs of days gone by and disregard a lot of new sounds, no matter how wonderful they are. For individuals prefer me, the Web provides a wonderful opening to collect and listen to the nostalgic notes of the past. As I work at the computer daily, I get the opening to listen to music on the computer all the time and this includes the radio. In fact, I’m working in South Asia at the time of writing and it is just wonderful to be able to tune into my preferred radio station back home.

What about you, do you listen to music on the computer? If not, then may be it’s time you got plugged in. Technology has come such a long way in recent years that the once humble computer has become not only a workstation but an entertainment center too. Yes, that’s right, movies and music videos are all possible from the click of a mouse.

Occasionally, when I’m tuned into the radio, a song will be played from years back that I’d totally forgotten about, but it’s a song that brings back a lot of fond memories of that time. No problems! I just login to my preferred musical download web site like ITunes or Napster, and for a tiny fee, I’ve just added another nostalgic noise to my ever growing archive in an instant.

But here’s a tip. If you are going to start collecting dozens or even hundreds of tunes to you PC, don’t forget to back them up externally too. What might be worse that your entire music collection disappearing with a hard drive failure? It is wonderful to collect and listen to music on the PC, but it’s wise to save copies outside of the PC too. Happy listening!

Individuals may now find more and more ways to find wonderful music to listen to, and the choices for how they may listen to that music are growing. The Internet is teeming with wonderful music, which is the same stuff that’s available in your Local music store. Before the Internet, you had to purchase your preferred music from a music store, and quite generally, you had to buy the whole album. After several years, singles were released, but there was no guarantee that you may get the single you are following.

Nowadays, you’re able to download music to listen to on a variety of divergent web site s. You could choose the exact song you want without purchasing the entire album, but you still have to pay for it. You could choose a random variety of songs and download them to your computer. Then you simply have to burn the songs to a compact disc or download them into your MP3 player. Modern technology has given us more ways to get excellent music to listen to.

You might additionally retailer your music right in your computer. If you are craving for some music to listen to, you might listen to them through one of the a lot of music players on your computer. You might use Windows Media Player, Real Player, or QuickTime. On the recent computer models, you don’t even need any type of media player, you simply pop in the compact disc and a control panel will pop up.

If you own an older computer model, it is advisable that you listen to music when you are not doing anything else on your computer. When you open your media player, and select your music to listen to, everything else on your old computer will drag. This might also cause your music to skip and stutter. This normally doesn’t occur with newer Computers. If your music is skipping, or your computer is lagging, it a lot of the time means that you are doing too much at once.

Don’t forget that the music seller is still an option when you’re choosing music to listen to. It may be decidedly easy to get your music Online, but it may be furthermore fun to buy an album. You may be interested on a single song from an album, but you haven’t heard the rest. You might find that there are a lot of tunes on that compact disc that you’ll furthermore prefer. There is just something special about the experience of browsing through a music seller and locating something amazing.

April Wine, one of rock’s longest running acts, is hitting the road again this year in grand style. April Wine will take the stage for their season chance concert in South Burlington, VT. on February 9, 2008. Look for a new stage and sound show, but with all the kick-ass old favorites coming your way just as you recall them. The word is that some new material is going to be played in this tour. 22 shows have been session so far.

If you do not remember April Wine, do not feel bad, I did not catch their wonderful sound until I was 21 or so. The 1st album I heard was “Nature of the Beast”, and the studio version of “Sign of the Gypsy Queen” blew me away! It’s intensity and drive filled my senses with a feeling of acoustical power and mystery. The lyrics become one with your soul uncommonly swift.

This is true of all April Wine’s tunes, they all seem to strike a chord with the listener on a individual level. “The Nature of the Beast” is a excellent album to start your April Wine collection with. It brings out the optimum of the performer and you will find pleasure in every song.

If you like what you hear, you may catch the performer in performance through next December. The show promises to be a good one. The sound of April Wine only gets better when played live. All the intensity of a 70’s rock rock performer shines through along with a excellent deal of artistic pride.

You’ll have to attend a performance to find out what’s in retailer for you. The details of the play list could have not been decided by the performer yet either. But of course, it is always optimum to get advance seating. Believe me folks, this is a hell of a show. The guys are rockers from the word go. You can’t miss by seeing April Wine in performance.

Now,assist your preferred rock bands, and they will be around to perform for a long time to come. Check out website s, join fan venue s, and by all means attend a performance for your pleasure. Music is a exceptional way to bring peace to the world, one song at a time.
